In the first and only practice session of the day, Lance completed 21 laps ofSilverstone, running the Soft, Medium and Hard compound Pirelli tyres to maximise limited practice time.
The Canadian driver put in a 1:29.597 lap time to finish FP1 in P18 as he and the team worked to find an optimum set-up for the AMR21.

Technical difficulties then put Lance on the backfoot for Q2, which required changes to the AMR21.
The Canadian set a 1:27.823 lap time to put himself inside the top 10 but, as the rest of the grid delivered their flying laps, he was eliminated in P15.
Lance Stroll – Aston Martin Cognizant Formula One™ Team Racing Driver
“P15 is not how we wanted to start our home event, but there is an opportunity to improve tomorrow thanks to the Sprint Race format. I was not totally comfortable in the car during practice, but I think we made some progress in qualifying, although it was not enough to make Q3. It was a challenge to only have one practice session today before qualifying, but it is the same for everyone. We will go away tonight and learn from today to make sure we maximise the second practice session before Sprint Qualifying.”
Lance will be on track for FP2 on Saturday July 17 from 12pm BST.
