Lance feels 'pretty pleased' after day 2 of pre-season testing in Bahrain

Lance completed the majority of testing with the AMR21 during day two at the pre-season tests in Bahrain.

After technical issues for Sebastian Vettel forced him to sit out the majority of the morning session, Lance provided the majority of the team’s day two runnings, completing 71 laps.

‍

The Canadian driver spent the afternoon session by completing long run race simulations for his Aston Martin Racing team with the Hard (C2) Compound Pirelli tyre.

As track conditions had improved throughout the day and the wind conditions had improved since the Friday session, Lance was able to improve on his previous lap time to put in his best time of a 1:30.460, finishing the session in P3.

“Overall a very positive afternoon after a difficult morning for Sebastian where some technical issues limited our running. Track conditions were not so easy – it was still quite windy, but even in those conditions it felt great to be back driving and getting lots of laps under my belt. The afternoon programme went to plan: we completed the main jobs and ticked off the test items. There’s still lots to catch up on tomorrow, but I’m feeling pretty pleased with a solid afternoon.”
