A tough Qualifying

The car was lacking grip in Q1, resulting in Lance qualifying P16.

Further difficulty in warm conditions

During the hottest day of the weekend, Lance began from P16 on Mediums.

Following an incident on the first lap, a Safety Car period began. At this point, Lance was up to P13.

Drivers ahead of Lance began to pit. By Lap 26, he was up to P7 and made his first pitstop for Hard tyres. His second stop came on Lap 54, when he switched to Softs for his final stint.

Throuhgout his race, the tyres of the AMR25 were degrading in the warm weather.

Lance Stroll, Aston Martin Aramco Formula One™ Team, said:

"We knew coming here it was always going to be a difficult weekend. We showed some early signs of decent pace in Free Practice but couldn't keep the positive momentum with the hotter temperatures over the rest of the weekend.
"It was always going to be challenging starting the race so far back today, but I also struggled with tyre degradation early on and we had to adapt our strategy because of that. We will have to look into it and use the coming days to prepare for Silverstone where we go again next week."
