Progress and points in Abu Dhabi

Aston Martin Aramco Formula One™ Team driver, Lance Stroll, finished P10 in the 2025 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, where he’d previously finished P14 in 2024.

Sitting out FP1, Lance enabled Aston Martin Aramco Formula One™ Team Young Driver Jak Crawford to take the reins of his AMR25 for one of the team’s mandatory rookie sessions.

Back on track

Lance returned to the AMR25 in Free Practice Two where he completed 29 on the Soft and Medium compound tyres.

He finished the session in P12.

A disrupted FP3

Lance got straight to work in FP3 and was first on track on the Hard compound tyres.

After a quick pit stop, he returned to the track on the Medium compound tyres. Another trip into the pits saw Lance switch onto the Soft compound tyres, which he continued to use throughout the session.

A red flag came out halfway through the session, with the green flag waving again with 17 minutes left on the clock.

Lance finished the final practice session of the year in P14 after completing 19 laps.

One last Qualifying

In Qualifying, Lance took to the track on the Soft compound tyre for his first run.

His first flying lap was deleted due to exceeding track limits, but his next attempt put him up to P11.

The track continued to ramp up in the final few minutes of Q1, and as Lance had fallen into the drop zone, he needed a good lap to go through to the next segment.

He improved on his previous time and ended Q1 in P11.

In Q2, Lance went P3 with his first flying lap, but as others set their times, he dropped to P7 before pitting.

On his next run, he was able to improve his lap time, but this still saw him sit in the drop zone. He ultimately ended the session in P15 with a time of 1:23.097.

Making moves

Lance began the final Grand Prix of the year on the Hard compound tyre from P15.

At the start he dropped to P17 but swiftly made a move on Kimi Antonelli for P16 before the end of the first lap.

As the first of the pit stops started to take place, by Lap 16 Lance had moved up into P10. With a further move being made on Carlos Sainz for P9.

He made his way into P6, but cars on fresher tyres began to make their way past Lance. He dropped to P7 on Lap 22, which is where he continued to run until his pit stop on Lap 43.

Lance returned to the track on the Medium tyre in P17 but was quick on the attack of the cars ahead. By lap 56 he had moved up into P10 and the points paying positions.

There was an intense last lap battle with Oliver Bearman where he managed to snatch P9 before crossing the line. However, after penalties were applied post-race Lance was classified in P10.

"It was a fun race, some great overtakes and good strategy by the team today, and nice to pick up a point at the final race at Yas Marina Circuit. In hindsight, we could've maybe pitted a lap or two earlier and finished even further up in the points. This year has been a tough one for the team, we haven't been as competitive as we wanted to be, so finishing this season with a positive result and P7 in the Constructors' Championship is good."
