Lance Stroll fought to the top 10 at the 2022 French Grand Prix, with the Canadian scoring a point at the Circuit Paul Ricard.

Lining up in 15th on the Medium Pirelli tyres, Lance made an incredible start to jump forward to 11th position on the first lap.

After safely avoiding a collision between Esteban Ocon and Yuki Tsunoda, Lance ascended into the points-scoring positions and began to chase down McLaren’s Daniel Ricciardo ahead.

A crash for Charles Leclerc on lap 18 of the 53 brought out the Safety Car and Lance seized the opportunity to make his only stop of the race, switching to the Hard tyres.

On lap 20, the Ferrari was recovered, and the race was resumed.

Lance maintained his position on the restart and remained within striking range of Ocon and Ricciardo ahead, but was unable to overtake the duo.

In the closing laps, Lance battled hard with team-mate Sebastian Vettel for the final points-scoring position.

The pair fought to the chequered flag with Lance clinching the final available point in 10th.

Lance Stroll – Aston Martin Aramco Cognizant Formula One™ Team Driver

“We had a great first lap today that set us up to have a great race. I nearly got [Esteban] Ocon in Turn Nine as well, but it was important to have such a good start. I felt I had some momentum in the closing stages to possibly catch [Daniel] Ricciardo. We are continuing our trend of being more competitive on a Sunday so today is a good platform as the summer break approaches. I had a snap on the exit on the last lap because I was struggling with my tyres at the very end. It was a good fight with Sebastian, but the most important thing was to bring a point home for the team today.”
