Lance Stroll ended Friday’s practice running in 15th position ahead of the 2022 French Grand Prix at the Circuit Paul Ricard.

Lance took to the 5.8-kilometre-long venue on a set of the Medium Pirelli tyres to set a 1.40.889 lap time which put him on the fringes of the top 10, before he quickly improved to eighth.

By switching to the faster Soft compound, and as the track continued to evolve, the Canadian’s lap time continued to fall and with a late 1.35.810, ended FP1 in 12th position.

With temperatures rising in the afternoon, Lance ran the Hard tyres in the early stages of FP2 and slotted into 11th but was pushed down the order into 15th as the session progressed.

He switched to the Soft tyres for the remaining 30 minutes but was unable to improve on his position and ended the day in 15th place.

“It was a good day today. The car felt okay – particularly on the long runs we did in FP2 – but it was definitely hot out there for everyone this afternoon. We will look at the data tonight and what we can work on for tomorrow. It is a tight midfield so it is tough to predict where exactly we will be in qualifying.”
