Challenging qualifying in Monza for Lance as he ends Saturday in 18th position.

Taking to the track for the final practice, Lance set out on a set of used Hard Pirelli tyres before switching to the Soft tyres for the remainder of the session.

The Canadian driver set an initial lap time of 1.24.365 to move into 12th before quickly improving into the top 10 with a 1.23.739.

Lance completed 16 laps of the Italian circuit, ending the morning in 20th position.

In Q1, Lance immediately took to the track, making good use of the free track to place into fourth in the opening stages of the session before returning to the pits.

Re-joining the track with eight minutes remaining, Lance put in a 1.22.997 to take himself into 12th position but was unable to maintain the spot, being knocked down into the elimination zone in 18th where he ended the day.

Due to numerous penalties for other drivers, Lance will start the Italian Grand Prix in 12th position.

Lance Stroll – Aston Martin Aramco Cognizant Formula One™ Team Driver

“We always knew that this would not be our strongest track and I think that showed with today’s result. Monza is a very different circuit to the tracks we have visited recently, so hopefully this is a bit of an outlier. We seem to have a bit too much drag on the car for this high-speed circuit. I am sure we will have stronger performances later on in the season. We will gain grid positions through other drivers taking penalties, so things could work out better for us tomorrow. We will try and do what we can to race for points.”
