Points secured in Hungary

Lance concluded the Hungarian Grand Prix in P7.

Aston Martin Aramco Formula One™ Team driver, Lance Stroll, finished P7 in the Hungarian Grand Prix, where he'd previously placed P10 in 2024.

Showing pace in practice

Across the weekend’s practice sessions Lance collected data on all three tyre compounds.

The team continued to evaluate recent updates that have been brought to the AMR25 throughout each session, which led to plenty of track time for Lance, totalling 72 laps across all three practice sessions.

Lance’s pace looked strong, concluding each of the three Free Practice sessions inside the top 10.

A strong Q3 appearance

Lance began Qualifying on the Soft compound tyre and his pace looked positive after his first run.

After pitting and putting another set of Soft tyres on, it was only himself and team-mate Fernando on track.

A second flying lap was good enough for P4 and after others had set their laps, Lance finished Q1 in P9.

He came straight out of the pits at the start of Q2 on the Soft tyre as there were a few rain drops falling.

After the first round of flying laps, Lance was sitting in P4. The rain didn’t amount to anything, and Lance came back out on another set of Soft tyres. He finished the second segment of Qualifying in P3.

Lance was once again one of the first on track in Q3, this time on a used Soft tyre. He set another good lap time, but this was shortly deleted for track limits.

After putting another set of Soft tyres on Lance set a lap time of 1:15.498 which would see him secure a P6 start for the Hungarian Grand Prix. His best starting position of the season so far.

A good haul of points in Hungary

From P6, Lance started the Hungarian Grand Prix on the Medium compound tyres.

He dropped to P7 on the start but was able to avoid any trouble on the opening lap.

Max Verstappen made a late move on Lance on Lap 3, dropping him to P8, but once Max  had pitted, Lance moved back up to P7.

He continued running in P7 until his only pit stop of the race came on Lap 37 for the Hard compound tyre. He rejoined back on track in P12, just ahead of Alex Albon.

As others ahead made pit stops, Lance circulated back up into P7 by Lap 49 where he continued running in the same position until the chequered flag came out, securing himself six valuable points.

Lance’s season will continue after the summer break in Zandvoort for the Dutch Grand Prix, 29-31 August.

Lance Stroll, Aston Martin Aramco Formula One™ Team, said:

"It was a great day for the team and a solid weekend from start to finish. Heading into the summer break with 16 points is a big uplift for us. But we have lots to learn from this weekend because we don't fully understand why we were more competitive here. We need to be in a place where we can put the car in that window at more tracks because ultimately, we want to be at this level of competitiveness more consistently. We'll see how we go in Zandvoort after the break because it's a very different kind of track."
