Lance completes morning session in final day of pre-season testing in Bahrain

Lance took advantage of the improved conditions during the final day of pre-season testing in Bahrain, completing the morning runnings.

Lance completed 80 laps and 431km during the morning session, starting the session on the Soft (C4) compound Pirelli tyres before switching to the Medium (C3) and Hard (C2) compound tyres for the remainder of the session.

The team opted to focus on shorter stints on the tyres compared to the long, race simulations they had tested in previous days.

‍

Lance set his best time of 1:36.100 during his stint on the Medium tyres before continuing on his run and ending the morning session in P18.

“I’m very happy with today’s work. We ran to our programme and collected lots of useful data by doing race simulations and long runs. We completed our job list for the day, which is a really good way to end the test after we lost out on a bit of running yesterday. We’ve got plenty of data to go over now to improve our understanding of the car, so that’s a nice position to be in – especially considering there were only three days of testing this year. I’m looking forward to starting the season here in Bahrain. We can go away now and make more improvements before we come back for the race.”
