Lance ended Friday in P17 as Formula One returns to the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez for the 2021 Mexican Grand Prix.

Lance began the FP1 session on a set of Soft compound Pirelli tyres but early incidents for both Charles Leclerc and Sergio Perez caused a short Virtual Safety car and prevented any representative running.

Once the track was clear, Lance re-joined the circuit to begin his first run, putting in a 1.20.945 lap time.

The Canadian continued on the Soft tyres and completed 27 laps of the Mexico City circuit as he concentrated on longer runs, ending the morning session in P13.

In FP2, Lance quickly took to the circuit on a set of Medium tyres as he focused on race preparation.

Lance ran both the Medium and Hard tyres for the second practice session to put in his best lap time of 1.19.730,ending the session in P17.

Lance Stroll – Aston Martin Cognizant Formula One™ Team Driver

“As we are expecting to start towards the back of the grid due to power unit change penalties, the focus today was on the longer runs and race pace, so it was a different programme to usual. I think we have made some encouraging progress, but tonight we will go away and look into ways to improve the car. It was dusty on track early on, so FP3 tomorrow will be a useful session to learn more about the car. The goal is to make sure we are in a good place to fight our way through the field on Sunday.”

FP3 for the Mexican Grand Prix will take place at 5 pm GMT on Saturday, November 6.
