Due to the Sprint weekend format, there was only one Free Practice session for Lance to learn as much information about Marina Bay Street Circuit as possible.
Lance collected a total of 26 laps, having run the Hard and Medium tyres during the session.
While the AMR26 performance should have been similar to Malaysia, the team struggled to get the car into the right window during Sprint Qualifying.
Lance experienced difficulties getting a good feeling from the car. Additionally, on his second push lap, he did not have overtake mode available and therefore missed out on any chances of fighting to get through to Q2.
He qualified P18 for the Sprint.
Rain hit Singapore on Saturday, resulting in a 30-minute delay to the 21-lap sprint.
Lance began from P18 on the Intermediate tyre, with parts of the track dry and parts still wet. Unfortunately, on the opening lap, Lance was forced to retire after contact.
In Qualifying, Lance experienced traffic during his final push lap, and there was also confusion around whether Valtteri Bottas would be aborting his push lap which unfortunately meant Lance lost a lot of time.
Additionally, the track proved to be bumpy which created tough conditions for the car.
Overnight, the team made set up changes to Lance's car, which meant he had to begin the Singapore Grand Prix from the pit lane in P21.
Lance began on the Soft tyre. He pitted at the end of Lap 27 and returned to the track on the Medium compound.
Unfortunately, his race came to an early end due to a clutch issue.
His season will continue on 23-25 October with the Singapore Grand Prix.
Lance Stroll, Aston Martin Aramco Formula One™ Team, said:
"We made some setup changes overnight so started from the pit lane today. We had driveability issues during the race, and then the clutch overheated so we had to retire on Lap 39. We will need to look into it and try to make things better for the next one."
